To qualify for this stimulus check, you must not have already received the Third Economic Impact Payment as part of the government’s coronavirus relief efforts. Additionally, your adjusted gross income (AGI) for the 2021 tax year plays a crucial role in determining eligibility.
For full eligibility of $1,400 per individual and qualifying dependent, your AGI needs to be $75,000 or below for individuals or $150,000 or below for married couples filing jointly. The payment begins to reduce for higher incomes, with no payments awarded to those whose AGI is $80,000 or more for individuals or $160,000 or more for married couples filing jointly.
If you believe you are eligible but have not received the payment, you likely did not file a tax return in 2021. Even if you had no income and typically do not file taxes, it is essential to do so if you want to claim this stimulus check.
