In her recent photo dump, Lea Michele shared her first look from the rehearsals of Funny Girls. She has been seen signing while rehearsing for her next role in her next venture.
The “Glee” alum, 35, shared the image on her Instagram Story on Friday. Lea Michele will take Beanie Feldstein’s position in the legendary role that helped make Barbra Streisand famous.
She has captioned her post stating that @ephieaardema was incredible and that they got a photo of her singing on a broadway stage for the first time. She tagged Ephie Aardema on the post as well.
Before her September 6 debut, the photo featured Lea Michele performing the Broadway hit from the front of the stage while wearing black leggings, a sweater, and chorus shoes.
Her “Glee” character Rachel Berry performed the song in the first season. Later, when Michele performed the same song at the Tony Awards in 2010, she wowed the audience.
Even though the actress’s career has come full circle with the casting news, it hasn’t been without controversy.
Lea Michele Shared Her First Look From Her Next Venture:
Feldstein surprised the Broadway world last month when she announced on social media that she would leave the show early. She cryptically said that there were times when the production decided to go in a different direction with the show and that it was extremely difficult for her to get out of the show than anticipated.
Jane Lynch, another “Glee” alum, declared her early resignation from the production but said it had “nothing to do” with the casting of her former co-star.
Michele, best recognized for her work on television, is also a seasoned Broadway performer who made her Broadway debut as Young Cosette in “Les Misérables” at 8.
Before playing Wendla Bergmann in “Spring Awakening,” she made appearances in productions of “Ragtime” and “Fiddler on the Roof.”
