Last week, Apple introduced its first product of the year, the iPhone 16e, and there are five additional launches anticipated in the upcoming weeks and months. Among these is the highly awaited AirTag 2. A recent leak provides us with clearer insights on its expected release date.
Apple aims for May or June release for AirTag 2, according to leaker
Leaker Kosutami announced on X today that AirTag 2 is on track to arrive this spring, echoing Mark Gurman’s previous reports. They further refine the timeline.
Kosutami states that AirTag 2 is set to launch in May or June.
As noted by Gurman, three key features are anticipated in Apple’s AirTag successor:
- enhanced range
- updated wireless chip
- advanced privacy features
The last point includes making the speaker more difficult to detach.
Kosutami also hints that home accessories—possibly the ‘HomePad’—and AirPods Pro 3 are “just around the corner.”
Although new AirPods Pro are not expected until September, the launch of Apple’s HomePad seems plausible for spring—likely coinciding with the release of iOS 18.5, which will bring new Apple Intelligence and Siri enhancements.
