A new visual representation aims to illustrate a possible design for the iPhone 17 Pro, featuring a wide camera module instead of the current offset square configuration.
3D artist and developer Asher Dipprey shared these renders in an exclusive video for his Patreon supporters …
Traditionally, Pro models have featured a square camera module on the left side, with lenses arranged in a triangular formation. However, recent reports indicate that the iPhone 17 Pro may opt for a different approach, extending the camera bump nearly the entire width of the device while maintaining the triangular lens setup.
In Dipprey’s render, which is also presented in Space Black, the camera bump appears asymmetrical, showcasing a more significant gap on the left side compared to the right.
These renders reportedly draw inspiration from a purported CAD image that circulated last month. Leaker Majin Bu claimed that this image was not authentic—an opinion supported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman—but acknowledged that it likely reflects the essence of real CAD designs.
I received an image of a suspected CAD for the iPhone 17 Pro. Upon consulting with some designers, their consensus was that it was indeed a fake. Regardless, even if it’s an imitation, it should still provide a glimpse of the CAD for the models currently under evaluation.
Bu has a mixed track record, having accurately predicted features like the new Desert Titanium color option for the iPhone 16 Pro.
Feedback regarding the rumored design has not been overwhelmingly positive; although Dipprey’s visuals are refined, he describes the design as merely “bearable.”
In addition to his rendering work, Dipprey is the creator behind Radiance, a free application that enables users to design personalized wallpaper.
DMN’s Perspective
This provides the clearest glimpse yet at what recent reports suggest, including what is believed to be illustrated by CAD images. Nevertheless, a certain degree of speculation remains in transforming design elements into a lifelike render.
Personally, despite the common initial shock that accompanies a new design, I find this particular look … well, quite unappealing. What are your thoughts? Feel free to share in the comments.
