Regardless of color and shape, Lizzo has done more than enough for the people who are labeled as outcasts by society. According to societal norms, there are human beings who cannot be considered part of the normal “people” of society. The social parameters were set by the so-called normal people. Perhaps they forgot the definition of normal.
The whole world is trying the new normal acceptance. America was the first country to legalize same-sex marriage.
Nevertheless, there are states who are still living in the 1800s.
Having the space to raise a voice against injustice takes much courage. Unlike many other artists, Lizzo was always vocal about her thoughts.
Lizzo Made Sure Her Voice Is Heard And Appreciated
She faced difficulties at the beginning of her career for being a black and plus-size woman. America didn’t learn to appreciate shapes and colors back then. Many still face racism on a daily basis. Lizzo is proud and confident to raise her voice for those voiceless fragile women in society. These women are too good to protest against ‘ powerful ‘ people. They accept injustice on a daily basis.
There is a huge space made by the citizens of America for drag queens. Recently Tennessee passed a bill against Drag queens. They are banning drag queens from performing or even existing in that state. They are removing them from the business. Taking away their home and a source of income.
Lizzo before coming to Tennessee was alerted by the situation that took place. The situation was dire perhaps. She was advised not to perform, mentioning how the state is taking away freedom.
Lizzo invited a bunch of her drag friends who were in Tennessee. They came in and Lizzo gave them her stage to set the stage on fire. They set the stage on fire but ignited a wildfire in the lives of the people who signed the bill. By doing this Lizzo proved everyone deserves a space in this society regardless of gender.
