macOS 15.2 Introduces Weather Widget for the Menu Bar

This Monday, Apple unveiled the second developer beta for iOS 18.2 and macOS Sequoia 15.2, introducing several new features powered by Apple Intelligence. One significant addition in today’s beta allows Mac users to integrate a Weather app widget directly into the macOS Menu Bar.

Currently, users may find it challenging to locate this new feature since it is disabled by default. To activate the Weather app widget in the Menu Bar, navigate to System Settings, then Control Center, and select the Weather option to enable its visibility in the Menu Bar.

After activation, the current temperature will be displayed in the Menu Bar. Clicking on it reveals a comprehensive Weather app widget reminiscent of the earlier Notification Center widgets from macOS versions preceding Big Sur.

This widget provides details including the current temperature, weather conditions, and forecast for the upcoming hours, along with a button to launch the Weather app.

Additional Information on macOS 15.2

Similar to iOS 18.2, macOS Sequoia 15.2 introduces numerous new features associated with Apple Intelligence, such as Image Playgrounds and ChatGPT integration. Initially, the beta was exclusive to M1 Macs, but it has since expanded compatibility to all Macs that support macOS Sequoia.

Apple has announced that the public release of macOS Sequoia 15.2 is anticipated in December.
