macOS Sequoia 15.2 Beta 4 Unveiled in Preparation for Next Month’s Launch

Apple has unveiled the macOS Sequoia 15.2 beta 4 for developers, bringing us closer to the upcoming public release. Here’s what to anticipate with this beta iteration.

Focus on bug fixes and performance enhancements

Typically, when Apple rolls out a fourth beta version of its software, users can expect various improvements, new features, and noteworthy changes.

However, with this latest beta 4, it’s likely that Apple has shifted its focus towards debugging and optimizing the system in preparation for the imminent public release.

This update may also include the security patches introduced in macOS 15.1.1 released yesterday.

macOS 15.2 is anticipated to launch in early to mid-December. With the Thanksgiving holiday approaching next week in the US, the window for further beta updates is quickly closing.

Consequently, while beta 4 should ideally provide a smoother experience on your Mac compared to previous versions, significant changes may be scarce.

macOS Sequoia 15.2 represents a robust upgrade for Mac users, primarily driven by its enhancements in Apple Intelligence. The new AI features include:

  • Integration of ChatGPT into Siri: A significant upgrade for Apple’s assistant.
  • Image Playground: A creative app for generating unique images using AI.
  • Enhanced writing tools: ChatGPT can now assist in crafting original texts from the ground up, while Apple’s rewriting features can accommodate specific user instructions for tailored revisions.
  • Expansion of language support: Apple Intelligence now includes localized English options for users in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the UK.

Unfortunately, the Genmoji feature seems to be absent, unlike its presence in the companion iOS and iPadOS 18.2 updates.

Apart from the Apple Intelligence features, macOS 15.2 also introduces a new Weather widget for the Menu Bar, an update to the Find My app allowing location sharing for lost items, and a few minor UI and design tweaks.
