Apple has rolled out a new software update for developers using the beta version of Mac. The first beta of macOS Sequoia 15.3 is now available, just five days after the public release of macOS 15.2.
New beta arrives shortly after significant public releases
Apple generally follows a predictable schedule for its software launches.
Typically, the company releases a new software version for all users, followed by a beta update for developers shortly thereafter.
Usually, the public beta for the same version is released a day or two later.
However, the release of macOS 15.3 beta 1 diverges slightly from this pattern. While macOS 15.2 was launched last Wednesday, it has taken almost a week for the beta of 15.3 to be released. Currently, macOS 15.3 is exclusively available to developers, with hopes for a public beta soon.
As of now, the new features or changes in macOS 15.3 remain undisclosed, but we will keep you informed of any updates we come across.
How to install macOS 15.3 beta or opt-out of it
If your Apple ID is linked to a developer account, you can proceed with installing the new macOS 15.3 software right now.
To install it, simply follow these steps:
- Open the System Settings application
- Navigate to General ⇾ Software Update
- Ensure that Beta Updates shows the macOS Developer Beta
- Click to download and install macOS 15.3
On a related note, if you’ve been using the macOS 15.2 beta up to this point, you might not be ready to upgrade to this latest build.
Since macOS 15.3 is in its initial beta stage, expect more bugs and performance issues compared to later beta versions.
