Mallory Edens, social media influencer and Aaron Rodgers’ girlfriend, recently reflected on an accident that literally changed her life. Last Friday, the activist and model- who is being linked to the quarterback for the New York Jets- went on to reveal on Instagram that she was marking 10 years since she fell off a horse that left her with a pretty traumatic brain injury.
Her post on Instagram carried a picture of her in a hospital bed with a neck brace, while she wrote that the day was quite a big event for her. It was a decade ago when she had fallen off her horse and got kicked in the head while she was going down. She then woke up in the ICU with four compound skull fractures and a serious brain injury which changed her life.

Mallory Edens continued, stating that she had spent quite a lot of time just thinking about the kid who had woken up in the ICU, considerably terrified that she would never be able to run or read a book again. She mentioned that this was an extremely scary thought for someone- to lose everything one knew about themselves in the blink of an eye. She also spoke about the aftereffects and mentioned that at 19 years of age, she had found herself curled up in the fetal position on the floor of the waiting room of a neurologist just a few years later- where she was suffering from an episode of trigeminal neuralgia- in pain that defied expression.
Nevertheless, Mallory Edens then expressed that she feels quite grateful for the extra time that she was given since the accident. She explained that she was quite grateful for the healthy brain and body that she was granted. She was also grateful to know the feeling of impermanence in her bones.
