Man Sentenced to Prison for Drug Overdose Death in Fond du Lac

On the previous day, 48-year-old Michael Kimmons was sentenced to 8 years in prison and an additional 10 years of extended supervision by the Fond du Lac County Circuit Court for a First Degree Reckless Homicide conviction linked to a fentanyl and cocaine overdose that occurred on January 5, 2021, in the City of Fond du Lac.

Kimmons was found guilty in January for orchestrating a drug transaction for the victim, who intended to utilize funds from a Covid stimulus check to procure drugs. Kimmons accepted drugs from the victim as payment for facilitating the deal.

The victim was subsequently discovered deceased at a residence on 7th Street in Fond du Lac, holding a phone in his hand. That phone led detectives to Kimmons, as they uncovered text messages from the victim requesting drugs, to which Kimmons responded affirmatively.
