Mercedes-Benz has unveiled a new app for the Apple Watch that offers a comprehensive set of features. The app is available for download today and provides real-time vehicle data, remote locking and unlocking, among other functionalities.
According to a press release issued today, Mercedes-Benz developed this Apple Watch app in direct response to customer feedback. Key features include:
- Finding a parked vehicle and navigating to it on foot
- A compass mode for navigating in areas without map coverage
- Remote lock and unlock capabilities for your vehicle
- Access to essential vehicle information and status updates
- Details on vehicle range, battery, or fuel levels
Mercedes-Benz emphasizes that “this innovative integration enables vehicle owners to engage with their cars effortlessly, eliminating the need to use their smartphones.”
The newly launched app for Apple Watch is available on the App Store and is compatible with Apple Watch models operating on watchOS 9 or later. The automaker also mentions that the availability of certain features may differ depending on your vehicle’s trim level.
