Mercury Weather is an innovative indie application that serves as a viable alternative to Apple’s Weather app. Following an August update that introduced several new features, another update has now arrived, offering weather notifications.
What’s New in Mercury Weather
Users have the option to receive detailed notifications regarding rain and snow, along with alerts for extreme weather events. Additionally, the app can send follow-up alerts if there are changes in the precipitation forecast, including whether it will be a brief shower or a day-long rain.
Furthermore, version 2.8 of the app introduces a new large widget that presents current conditions, expected rainfall, and both hourly and daily forecasts.
For those who may not know, Mercury Weather features a distinctive design along with unique functions, such as letting users choose from various weather data providers – including Apple Weather, OpenWeather, and Foreca.
The application also offers multiple widgets suitable for both the Home and Lock Screen. Importantly, Mercury Weather is available for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro.
Mercury Weather was created by the same team responsible for Orbit, an app designed to assist individuals in managing freelance work, tracking working hours, and generating invoices.
You can download Mercury Weather for free on the App Store. However, some features, such as adding multiple locations, require a subscription starting at $2.99 per month. There are also lifetime licenses available for both individuals and families.
