Mistral, a French AI company, has officially unveiled a native application for its chatbot “Le Chat” on iOS. Previously accessible only through web platforms, now iPhone and iPad users can download the app for an enhanced experience.
Mistral’s Le Chat Now Live on the iOS App Store
For those who are not aware, Mistral’s Le Chat is in competition with other AI chatbots, including OpenAI’s ChatGPT. According to TechCrunch, Mistral has developed proprietary language models like Mistral Large and Pixtral Large, which are also offered for commercial applications via an API. Like its rivals, Mistral provides both free and paid tiers for Le Chat, with varying feature access.
Mistral claims that Le Chat can process up to 1,000 words per second—outpacing ChatGPT’s 4o model. The app also features advanced models for image generation and touts enhanced privacy compared to other AI chatbots.
“Le Chat merges robust AI capabilities with vast online information to help you explore the world anew. Experience fluid conversations, live internet searches, detailed document analysis, and a variety of other features,” the app description states.
Le Chat is available for free on the App Store and requires an iPhone or iPad with iOS 15.1 or later. Mistral has also released an Android version on Google Play. Unlimited usage plans start at $14.99 per month. More information can be found on the Mistral website.
