The concept of the Trump Economy didn’t emerge out of thin air. In reality, the 78-year-old has often claimed that he would reduce food prices on the very first day of his presidency if elected. (This promise has yet to be fulfilled.)
Additionally, Trump has linked his victory to this unfulfilled pledge. During an appearance on Meet the Press, he stated, “I won on groceries. It’s a very simple word, groceries. Like almost, you know, who uses that word? I started using the term, the groceries… I won an election based on that. We’re going to significantly reduce those prices.”
