The initiative’s objective is to keep Child Protective Services from intervening in children’s lives, a process that can be quite challenging.
This program is set to operate in Sacramento, California, and local residents are thrilled about the announcement.
Turner Bass, a resident of one of the targeted communities, remarked: “I think it’s really beneficial because many of us African Americans are facing significant hardships.”
Andy Sandoval, another Sacramento resident, stated: “Most of our community members are financially struggling.

IRS TAX TOOL
With millions of Americans submitting their tax returns, a little-known online tool can assist you in tracking your refunds, as reported by The US Sun..
If you file your tax return electronically, the IRS estimates you should receive your refund within 21 days or less.
By using the online tool Where’s My Refund?, you can check the status of your income tax refund within 24 hours of e-filing and generally within four weeks after filing a paper return.
What are the five groups for stimulus check distribution?
IF a third stimulus payment is approved, similar to the first disbursements, the IRS will likely administer checks in order of priority groups.
Here are the five IRS groups and where you might fall:
Direct deposit recipients: Individuals with their direct deposit details already on file with the IRS or who submit that information during any future registration should be prioritized to receive a stimulus check.
Social Security beneficiaries: During the first stimulus round, many Social Security recipients with direct deposit information on file received their checks early in the process, though not necessarily on day one.
Individuals who receive paper checks by mail: The IRS sent out checks about a week later to individuals without direct deposit information.
EIP card recipients: Economic impact payment debit cards are prepaid Visa cards sent by the IRS to about four million individuals starting in mid-May.
If the IRS follows the same distribution order, this group may see their payments weeks after the initial direct deposit transfers occur.
Individuals with complex circumstances: This category includes those who received their first checks after June, those still awaiting payment, or others who may need to complete additional steps.
To utilize this tool, you will need your Social Security number or individual taxpayer ID number, your filing status, and the calculated refund amount on your tax return.
According to the IRS, of the over 11 million tax returns processed in 2025, this year’s average refund amount is 30% higher than the average refund issued during the same timeframe in 2024.
As of January 31, the average refund amount was reported at $1,928, as stated by the IRS.
This is in contrast to the $1,395 for the same period in 2024.
