Apple has unveiled a new release candidate (RC) build for iOS 18.4, which includes further bug fixes and enhancements in preparation for its upcoming public release.
On Monday, Apple rolled out the RC versions for its upcoming major software updates.
iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, macOS 15.4, visionOS 2.4, among others, will be available soon.
Typically, an RC build is anticipated to be the final version of the software prior to its public deployment.
However, as observed yesterday with macOS 15.4, Apple occasionally requires a second RC build during the testing process.
While the company does not disclose specific details regarding the updates between each RC build, they generally issue a second RC only if critical issues are identified that must be resolved before launch.
The freshly released RC has a build number of 22E240.
The initial RC issued on Monday was 22E239.
This release is available for all developers as well as public beta testers.
