New Trailer for Apple TV+ Comedy ‘The Studio’ Highlights Hollywood’s Stressful Reality

Later this month, Apple is confronted with the significant challenge of retaining TV+ subscribers following the conclusion of Severance. One of its major strategies? A new comedy titled The Studio, which has just released its complete trailer.

The Studio is one of Apple’s most significant premieres this spring

Among the standout March releases on Apple TV+, The Studio is certainly at the forefront. It is set to debut on Apple TV+ later this month on Wednesday, March 26.

The only other show that could contest its position as the top new release is Dope Thief, a crime thriller coming out next week.

While that series revolves around criminal dangers, The Studio encapsulates a vastly different type of tension: the pressures of Hollywood filmmaking.

Here’s how Apple describes the series:

Seth Rogen takes on the role of Matt Remick, who has just been appointed head of struggling Continental Studios. As films fight to stay vibrant and relevant, Matt along with his battleground of executives wrestle with their self-doubts while managing egotistical artists and merciless corporate heads in their relentless quest to create outstanding films. Behind their polished appearances lies a constant sense of panic; every party, filming session, casting choice, marketing meeting, and award ceremony presents both a glittering opportunity for success or the risk of catastrophic career failure. This is a lifelong dream for Matt—someone who lives and breathes movies—but it may ultimately lead to his downfall.

Apple has previously shared various teasers and snippets of the show, but today marks the release of the official trailer.

DMN’s Perspective

I am genuinely excited to watch The Studio, as it has the potential to become one of the biggest hits on Apple TV+ thus far.

However, this recent trailer leaves me pondering whether the show’s tone might impact its success. While earlier snippets and the original teaser conveyed a lighter, comedic vibe, this full trailer suggests a darker atmosphere.

Dark comedies can certainly achieve greatness, but finding the right mix of humor and drama—or in this situation, the stress and anxiety within a comedic context—presents its own challenges. I’m eagerly anticipating the reviews after the show’s SXSW premiere today.
