Ever since the coronavirus pandemic, the United States government has sent out three stimulus checks. However, there has been no approval by Congress or Biden’s White House for one more direct stimulus relief round. The future possibility of it happening is getting bleaker by the day.
A Misinformation About The Stimulus Check
However, the lack of approval has not stopped rumors from spreading far and wide across the internet. This 4th stimulus check rumor is about Biden’s federal government issuing a payment worth a whopping $7000. The checks were touted to be sent out on 19th August.
The recent report of daily trending terms on Google showed a huge spike in phrases like “Aug 19 stimulus checks $7000” being searched. The United States edition of The Sun claimed that the new stimulus payment will be directly deposited in the bank accounts of Americans on 19th August. Needless to say, the report has been proven to be false.
There has been no direct legislation passed by the government of Joe Biden related to another stimulus check. No such payments are going to be issued by the IRS. Moreover, most of Congress has seemingly steered clear of any more stimulus packages for the present future. Their focus, for now, was on more efforts that were targeted now that the economy has been improving.
People have signed petitions demanding another stimulus check. The biggest one of them has crossed 2.7Mn in signatures. The rate of signatures has not slowed down even if the economy is recovering from the shutdowns because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The first of the federal payments were issued back in March of last year. In that round, individuals received a maximum payment of $1200. The second round was worth $600, and the latest one was worth a maximum of $1400.
