The OnePlus8T is yet to release. But you’re in the tech world, so everything’s a little fast forward here. The latest leak on OnePlus smartphones is not about the to-be-released model but on the next one, expectedly the OnePlus9.
Recent leaks and rumors have almost made it clear to us what to expect in the OnePlus8T model. OnePlus has also recently announced the release of its new OnePlus8T after the previous 7T model. However, prolific OnePlus leaker Max J just revealed to us the potential codename for the next OnePlus9 model to come in 2021.
OnePlus Leaker Tweets About OnePlus 9’s Potential Codename
In a recent tweet, Max J. posted an image of a OnePlus phone outline. The word ‘lemonade’ also featured in the tweet alongside the phone outline. We know more of this leaker than not to trust him. So, it is believed that the new OnePlus 9 model is likely to carry the codename of “Lemonade”. A codename is the development name of an upcoming smartphone. Other than this, OnePlus might also be thinking of making this model its next high-end model for the upcoming year.
According to OnePlus smartphone launch patterns, the company really pushes to release its highest-end smartphones every six months. It starts during spring with OnePlus revealing a new phone, after which the upgraded model comes out after 6 months or so. The same cycle is repeated every year. So, it’s not unlikely that OnePlus is already working on its flagship-killer smartphone aka the OnePlus 9.
Another interesting update that can be guessed from Max J’s tweet is that the Chinese smartphone-giant might even bring out two OnePlus9 phones in the next year, likely OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro models.
Could The OnePlus 9 Pro Be The Next OnePlus 8 Pro?
The OnePlus 8 Pro was a true flagship model. With wireless charging, striking camera specifications and above all an impressive display, the OnePlus 8 Pro model had won many hearts. However, the model didn’t receive a T-update from OnePlus. The OnePlus 9 leak suggests that the company might trat building an upgrade for the OnePlus 8 Pro model to be released in 2021.
OnePlus fans are a little disappointed with the 8T model specifications. OnePlus didn’t add enough compelling features to this model that is supposed to launch in late October. The OnePlus 7T model left OnePlus users expecting a lot from the 8T model but it seems it failed to deliver adequately.
In case of the OnePlus 9 model, the company needs to work on the camera specifications as well as the choice of software. Some people even expect that the new OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro models might give a tough fight to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S21.
