A mass surge in the activity on the layer-2 scaling solution of Polygon in Ethereum in March saw the network turn out to be the second-largest gaming network in blockchain in terms of unique active wallets.

According to the Blockchain games report- which was published by DappRadar, a decentralized application analytics platform, the number of UAWs that have been engaging with games on the network touched 138,081 in March, which was a marked increase of 53% from February.

This figure also places the network well ahead of the third and fourth-ranked Hive and BNB Chain at 84,000 and 80,000 UAWs, respectively, whole Wax maintains its lead at the top with 314,000 UAWs. The report read that the blockchain which was previously considered as DeFi Apps, went on to overtake Hive this month- following which it secured the second spot. This seems to be a positive sign for Polygon- as it is now gaining massive recognition as a gaming blockchain.

Polygon Has Surged On The Gaming Blockchain Network

It has been mentioned that the large number of UAW on Polygon was due to the Hunters On-Chain game by BoomLand, which saw a massive increase of around 17,000% over the last 30 days alone, according to data from DappRadar. The game was launched in January and is a Web3 adaptation of Hunt Royale, the mobile game of BoomLand. This is a free-to-play role-playing game with several nonfungible token integrations, and a style and look similar to Minecraft. On the 9th of March, the game went on to see an all-time high UAW count of around 55,300.

The increase was almost expected, as there had been some majorly bullish momentum that was developing around Polygon over the last few months, which was specifically related to NFTs, metaverse, and games.
