The Baywatch actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas, 40, in an interview with Today, has commented on her 1-year-old baby Malti’s neonatal complications and her stay in the NICU for months, and how she was strongly supported by her husband Singer Nick Jonas, 30. Priyanka and Nick welcomed their daughter Malti via surrogacy on January 15, 2022.
Priyanka Chopra Is Grateful For Her Supportive Husband
Priyanka has stated that Nick knew what a man had to do. She recalls how Nick held her by the shoulder asking what to do. Then the duo drove to the hospital with their daughter. She said baby Malti has never been away from either of them since her birth.
Priyanka Chopra praised Nick by calling him the most generous, kindest, thoughtful, and gentle man. She called Nick very patient and intelligent as well. Nick has been her strength and support during Malti’s stay at the hospital. Priyanka has said it was more of a test for Malti rather than her and Nick, and they just could not afford to be weak and scared as Malti was. As a mom, Priyanka Chopra had to become her strength, to make Malti feel secure and that she was not alone.
When Malti was discharged from the hospital, Priyanka had to adjust as a parent beyond the hospital. As in the NICU, Malti’s condition was being monitored, however, at home, Priyanka was highly concerned for her health and spent sleepless nights. Priyanka would put her ear on Malti’s chest to hear her heartbeat. This continued for weeks.
Even though Priyanka Chopra emphasizes her role as a mother amid her strict working schedule, she does not forget to spend time with her husband Nick, by watching movies or with friends together. Malti was recently spotted with her parents in Mumbai, India.
