Remi Bader

Remi Bader was bullied as a child because of her weight. As an adult, she decided to lose weight after getting diagnosed with hypertension. She took diabetes and obesity drug Ozempic in 2020 and lost about 100 pounds in six months. But now, Bader says she gained back twice as much weight as she lost while off the medication. And it’s not clear if that’s because of the drug or something else entirely—though it does happen sometimes with this kind of treatment.

Remi Bader Reveals Her Weight-Gain Secret

The 39-year-old said she was teased as a teenager for being overweight, even though she was not obese by any means. She told People that people called her names like “fatty” and “lard ass.”

As an adult, Bader decided to lose weight after getting diagnosed with hypertension. She started taking the diabetes and obesity drug Ozempic, and lost about 100 pounds in six months.

But then she gained back most of what she had lost after stopping using the drug, which is known for its severe side effects like suicidal ideation, depression and mood swings.

When Remi Bader was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes, she started taking Ozempic to help control her blood sugar levels. She also took other medications for her condition, including insulin injections to lower her blood glucose levels before meals and during the night when she wasn’t eating anything else but sleeping. After six months on these two regimens, however—Ozempic plus insulin injections—she’d lost about 100 pounds (45 kilograms). This prompted her to stop taking both drugs after only six months on them because she felt like they were no longer needed once she hit such an important milestone in weight loss!
