Following her stunning performance at the Super Bowl halftime show, Rihanna’s agent revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that the diva is expecting.
Rihanna performed and danced to a number of her classics at the State Farm Arena in Glendale, Arizona, where the Philadelphia Eagles are facing the Kansas City Chiefs.
Rihanna sang well-known tunes including “We Found Love,” “Where Have You Been,” “Diamonds” and “Work,” and even indicated she was pregnant during the show, which was trending on social media Sunday. Rihanna, together with rapper A$AP Rocky, is the joyful parent of a 9-month-old child. In an interview that took place before her halftime show, the Grammy winner revealed she originally thought twice about playing at the Super Bowl, but motherhood eventually pushed her to perform at the big game.
Rihanna Rocked The Super Bowl Halftime With Her Performance
“I was like, ‘You sure? I have been a mom for three months now. Should I be making huge decisions like this right now? I could regret this,’” she added. As a mother, “there is something that just occurs where you feel like you could take on the world — you can do anything,” she said. As terrifying as it was to perform on one of the world’s largest stages—the Super Bowl—she found something thrilling in the difficulty of the situation. As a father, I feel my son must witness that.
She also mentioned that it was difficult to condense her 18-album discography into a 13-minute performance. The setlist was the toughest part. That was the hardest part – knowing how to optimize 13 minutes but also rejoice. That’s what the show’s going to be — it’s going to be a celebration of my repertoire in the finest way,” she remarked. “I think we did a really good job at narrowing things down.”
The singer blasted through a number of her well-known classics, putting the most upbeat and danceable songs like “Only Girl (In the World)” and “Where Have You Been” at the front of her set list. Even after she had been dropped to the earth, the halftime performance was full of spectacular moments. As she began playing We Found Love, fireworks exploded over the stadium.
