Rita Moreno has won an Oscar for her character Anita in a 1961 classic known as the West Side Story. The actress is 91 and she is still active in the showbiz. She has landed some prominent roles in movies like 80 for Brady and another upcoming film called the Fast X. However, the actress said that she is relieved she don’t have to go for auditions anymore.
Rita Moreno was at the red carpet of the Annual Artios Awards where she was talking to a PEOPLE reporter. The actress got an award for her career achievement over the years. She said that she could not remember the last time she ever auditioned and she is happy about the fact that she don’t have to audition for any roles any more.
Rita Moreno in the interview said that she will be horrible at the auditions as she often gets very nervous.
Rita Moreno Is Happy That She Don’t Has To Audition For Roles Anymore:
The 91 year old actress in the starting of her career said that she was shocked to know that she landed the role of Anita in the movie, the West Side Story, which will later help him get the Oscar. Rita Moreno said that she had no idea she was going to get that role. She said that the production was testing a lot of youngsters for the role and she was sure that she won’t get a chance to get the role. Therefore, when she got the news, she was shocked.
However, the performer from the lands of Puerto Rico who moved to New York when she was five has figured out what got her that role of Anita. Rita Moreno said that she thought when the harrrasment scene of Anita which was her scene in the audition got her that role.
