The prosecutors that have been investigating the actions of SBF, or the CEO of FTX Sam Bankman-Fried, have gone out of their way to approach the top members of the Democratic Party. This action has been the result of them seeking information regarding the political donations that this entrepreneur had reportedly made.

Several members from the United States Democratic National Committee, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and Hakeem Jeffries- a fellow Congressman- were contacted by the prosecutors for any and all information that they had in order to aid the judiciary in their ongoing investigations, as reported by the New York Times.

SBF Has Been Arrested By The Royal Bahamas Police

The office of the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York also issued an email to the lawyer of the Democratic Party elections, Marc Elias, in order to ask him for details on the donations that had been made by SBF. Similar emails were also issued to other members of both the Republican and Democratic parties.

According to the latest information, the police of the Royal Bahamas had reportedly arrested Sam Bankman-Fried on the 12th of December, on the basis of a request made by the US government, just a day after the accused had to testify before Congress. The entrepreneur then saw himself being charged with eight different counts of elections and financial fraud, which was directed heavily into the siphoning off of $1.8 billion in customer funds.

On the 17th of December, three separate Democratic groups, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, the DNC, and the DCCC- decided to return the donations that were linked to SBF straight to the prosecutors. It was documented that the entire donations amounted to $1 million.
