Shiba Inu has emerged as the most prevalent cryptocurrency on Twitter. It beat bitcoin, Ether, and Dogecoin. It is projected as the Dogecoin killer.
Shiba Inu was launched in August 2020 and was created by someone with the pseudo-name of Ryoshi. It has been modeled after Dogecoin from the beginning and its mascot is a cartoonized depiction of a dog face of the popular Japanese breed Shiba Inu.
CoinMarketCap reports that Shiba Inu’s currency SHIB is currently held by 842,841 wallets. Of these 14,645 tokens are active addresses.
The limited number of SHIB tokens of one quadrillion makes it a rarity, and it is still in active development.
2021 was the most popular year for the newcomer SHIB as they reach numerous milestones. The reputation of the DOGE killer has been justified, and it has also arisen as the cryptocurrency most viewed on CoinMarketCap this year.
Shiba Inu Ahead In Assets
Shiba Inu has also edged ahead as the most-viewed of the crypto assets with 188M views in the past 12 months. That is over 43M more than 145M views for Bitcoin this year.
Fierce rivals Dogecoin came in 3rd among viewership in 2021 for cryptocurrencies with 107M views. Cardano and number two Ethereum made up the 4th and 5th position at 86M and 81M viewership respectively.
It is striking to note that SHIB is a mere 15 months old though it has climbed to the 13th spot among the cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.
October saw a spurt of 133% in just 4 days and Shiba Inu reached its highest ever of $0.000088. Its market capitalization climbed to an astounding $41.5B. at that time SHIB was placed among the 10 largest crypto assets and had surpassed its rival Dogecoin.
In a parallel development data from Global Data revealed that there was a surge in conversation on social media around Shiba Inu by 16,000% making it the largest rate of growth when compared to the other cryptocurrencies in the top 10.
