The secure messaging app of Signal has recently added a few chat features which are mainstream and are being used by WhatsApp. They made these additions in order to attract more users during this time of confusion over privacy in conventional messaging apps.

The debate over the privacy policy on the platforms owned by Facebook has been raging for the past few weeks. As a result, people are trying to find other safe options to communicate without having to worry about their privacy.

The new features of Signal will be rolled out soon enough for both the iOS (5.3.1) as well as Android (5.3.7) devices. These features will also offer new chat and exciting chat wallpapers along with animated stickers as well as a section on ‘About’ in the profile of every user.

These new features on the app were first noticed by the Android Police. The update on beta included 24 animated stickers.

The users of iPhones can see the new setting while they reduce the data usage at the time calls. This option will automatically stop the download of attachments during calls and also the enhanced image compression.

Telegram has also made some significant additions that will arrive on iOS devices soon. Telegram has witnessed a massive increase in the number of users that have crossed almost 525 million.

However, Signal has not disclosed the number of users but it can be understood that they experienced an enormous 4,200% increase in the number of users.
