Lately, Snapchat has announced a full launch of the new ‘Sounds’ feature that will make users able to include songs to their snaps.
As clarified by Variety:
“With Sounds on Snapchat, users of the iOS app worldwide can add music to their Snaps (pre- or post-capture) from a curated catalog of music. Snapchatters can add music before recording a video by selecting the Sounds tool (with the music notes icon) on the right-hand side of the Camera screen and choosing a track from the Featured Sounds list. Alternately, they can select a track from the Sounds tool after taking a Snap.”
Snapchat has launched a primary test of the TikTok-ish feature in New Zealand and Australia earlier in August. Now, it is getting a full launch at this stage on iOS devices.
The new option has been there, after Snapchat’s negotiations with music publishers through the previous year on new deals to permit music sharing in users’ snaps. This new feature was likely aroused by the increased popularity of TikTok that has music clips as a major part of their use of the platform. And between the rumors of a possible shutdown of TikTok in the US, that eventually seem to have equalized to no action in oppose to the application. Snapchat seeks to apply the new music option fast to put together any TikTok refugees to examine a new place to share the same sort of content.
