The three huge stimulus check payments in the months of 2020 and 2021 did make pretty huge headlines, but many states got in on the action in 2022 and 2023 as well. Unfortunately, for those looking for the payments, most of the deadlines have already passed, and a lot of the money has been distributed.

However, there are still quite a few states that have either authorized new stimulus payments this month or are on the way to distributing all of the money that they had originally allocated. In the state of Idaho, the government issued tax rebates and Special Session Rebates in March and September 2022. Those payments have already been completed for residents that managed to file their tax returns on time. However, for those who got extensions or filed them later, rebates are on the way to being processed through the summer of 2023.

Stimulus Check Payments Coming In A Few States

In Illinois, 17th October 2022 was the absolute last date when one would be able to file for both the Illinois Income Tax Rebate and/or the Property Tax Rebate. Most of the payments have been made already. However, the Comptroller of the state has gone on to indicate that the stimulus check payments will be continuing until all of them have been issued. As with a lot of the states, the time limit to file for a state rebate has already passed in Maine. However, if one has qualified for the payments but hasn’t received one, they would have till the 30th of June to contact the State Tax Assessor to prove their eligibility.

Massachusetts started paying its state stimulus check tax refunds in November 2022, and those payments are now almost over. Eligible filers will see themselves entitled to a refund of around 14.0312% of their 2021 Massachusetts state tax liability.
