Coronavirus cases are rising so fast in the USA. So, Facebook will release new, prompts on top of the feed, on Facebook and Instagram, to urge USA residents to keep wearing face masks when they go out of their houses.

Facebook mask prompt

As per Facebook:

“With the rise in COVID-19 cases in the US, we’re putting an alert at the top of Facebook and Instagram to remind everyone to wear face coverings and find more prevention tips from the CDC in our COVID-19 Information Center “

The US had new 52,000 Coronavirus cases in one day on Wednesday, a height for any area, and virus expert, and mentor to the White House, Dr. Anthony Fauci has stated that the US is “going in the wrong direction” with the infection. Fauci has notified that infections can soon be 100,000 cases every day.

There have been some arguments over masks, and even discordant data from the sources at various times.

In earlier stages of the COVID-19, health officials were always advising people not to wear masks – however, that it was created to make sure that there wasn’t an unexpected rush on mask purchasing, and that there would be enough supply for essential service workers firstly. However, currently, the urge is obvious. Even the USA President Donald Trump, who had been generally disdainful of the need for masks, has now come around and is advising wearing masks.

Hopefully, definitely, is that a vaccine will protect people, and abstract COVID-19 once and for all. However, that may keep being some months off, and we don’t know how long we’ll have to live in a situation where COVID-19 keeps present. It had felt, at one stage, like we had passed a critical starting in the spread of the virus, but that’s apparently driven to a level of self-contained, in many countries, with China, the USA, and Australia all seeing a resurgence in cases through the last week.

Also, wearing a mask makes sense. Not all people will love it, however, based on the official health urge, it may be the best way to halt the spread – and Facebook’s prompts will help to increase awareness, hopefully.
