Introduced in 2022, Spotify Car Thing was the company’s initial foray into hardware. However, shortly after its launch, Spotify declared that it would stop producing and selling the device. Now, just two years later, the service has officially stopped supporting existing units, advising users to dispose of their devices.

Earlier this morning, owners of Car Thing noticed their devices had gone inactive. Numerous reports surfaced on Twitter/X, showing that the device now powers on only to present a notification stating it is “no longer operational,” along with details about refund eligibility, which concludes in January.
