While millions of Americans may be expecting another government stimulus check, in 2022, the prospects of that occurring are modest – at least for the time being. The last economic effect payment was made in March 2021, thus it has been more than a year since Americans received a cash boost from this sort of stimulus package.

11 States Are Giving Out Stimulus Checks

Here’s what each state is giving – or has proposed – to help put money in people’s pockets this year.

  1. California

Governor Gavin Newsom has proposed sending prepaid cards worth $400 to California drivers.

  1. Illinois

This state’s Democratic lawmakers have recommended payouts of $100 per person and $50 for every kid.

  1. Idaho

Idaho residents will also receive a financial boost in the form of a rebate check based on their 2020 taxes.

  1. Maine

Starting in June, residents of Maine who are qualified will get relief checks totaling a maximum of $850.

New Mexico, number five

Residents of New Mexico may be eligible for a one-time tax reimbursement of up to $500 this year.

  1. Indiana

Residents of Indiana will also receive a stimulus payment of up to $125 per single adult or $250 per married couple.

  1. Georgia

Residents who qualify will soon get one-time tax refunds of up to $500 from the state of Georgia.

  1. New Jersey

Thousands of people of low-income taxpayers in New Jersey may soon get $500 stimulus checks.

  1. Virginia

The proposed payouts would be reportedly worth $300 for individuals and $600 for married couples and would be distributed in the form of a tax refund later this year.

  1. New York

New York additionally offers a percentage-based estate tax relief credit to qualifying low- to middle-income residents. This benefit will be worth around $970 on average.

  1. Hawaii

Earlier this year, Hawaii’s governor suggested a $100 Stimulus Check for all state payers and their families.
