11 States Are Giving Out Stimulus Checks
Here’s what each state is giving – or has proposed – to help put money in people’s pockets this year.
- California
Governor Gavin Newsom has proposed sending prepaid cards worth $400 to California drivers.
- Illinois
This state’s Democratic lawmakers have recommended payouts of $100 per person and $50 for every kid.
- Idaho
Idaho residents will also receive a financial boost in the form of a rebate check based on their 2020 taxes.
- Maine
Starting in June, residents of Maine who are qualified will get relief checks totaling a maximum of $850.
New Mexico, number five
Residents of New Mexico may be eligible for a one-time tax reimbursement of up to $500 this year.
- Indiana
Residents of Indiana will also receive a stimulus payment of up to $125 per single adult or $250 per married couple.
- Georgia
Residents who qualify will soon get one-time tax refunds of up to $500 from the state of Georgia.
- New Jersey
Thousands of people of low-income taxpayers in New Jersey may soon get $500 stimulus checks.
- Virginia
The proposed payouts would be reportedly worth $300 for individuals and $600 for married couples and would be distributed in the form of a tax refund later this year.
- New York
New York additionally offers a percentage-based estate tax relief credit to qualifying low- to middle-income residents. This benefit will be worth around $970 on average.
- Hawaii
Earlier this year, Hawaii’s governor suggested a $100 Stimulus Check for all state payers and their families.
