With the rise in the cases of the Delta variant of the coronavirus across the United States of America, the demand for recurring stimulus checks is gaining momentum. The disease control center has stated that it is imperative for those who are vaccinated to wear masks indoors moving forward. There are no such mask mandates introduced by the federal government as of now, however, some institutions have already taken the initiative. Most retailers have introduced the importance of masks irrespective of the absence of any such laws.

Stimulus Checks’ Need Intensified

As the rise of infection threatens the economy of the country, more people have started demanding stimulus checks with the rising economic uncertainties. The number of unemployment claims has increased throughout the country in the month of July. so many workers were laid off especially from the auto and manufacturing industries. This incident took place in the last few weeks. Despite all of this, there is almost no progress when it comes to providing stimulus checks on the side of the federal government.

As of now, the US Congress is debating on the infrastructure bill. The amount of the bill is said to be 1 trillion USD. However, no statement has been given if the bill contains any synch provision related to the financial aid payments. The stimulus check is demanded by a total of 80 Congress Representatives from the Democratic Party.

Kamala Harris, the vice-president, has also been supportive about the money. However, Joe Biden, the President, has not displayed enough interest. When Jen Psaki, the press secretary of the White House, was asked on the matter,  she gave no distinct answer and stated that it was up to the members of the US Congress to decide. This statement was made in the month of March.
