Millions of US citizens are on the verge of missing deadlines for stimulus checks. Taxpayers and families have until September to receive cash prizes varying from $50 to $800. In Chicago, gas cards are available.
Updates on the Stimulus Check
$12.5 million in mobility assistance, including transportation and gas cards, will be distributed as part of the Chicago Moves project. A lottery will award up to 50,000 $150 prepaid gas cards in Chicago.
The city will hold random draws every second week of the month until September to give the cards. The next gas card application date is June 1st.
Chicago transit lottery
$50 for a chance to win a $50 Chicago transportation lottery. The Chicago Moves project will also offer 100,000 prepaid transit cards for $50. Residents who missed the deadline can still participate in the lottery until September.
If you are not picked in a drawing, you will be immediately included in the following month’s pool. To apply, you must be at least 18 years old, a Chicago resident, and have a current and valid City sticker for your automobile with the correct postal address. You must be a Chicago resident and 18 years old to register for the Chicago Moves gas stimulus check. Applications must have a valid driver’s license with the correct postal address for their car, as well as a household income of less than 200 percent of Chicago’s Area Median Income.
Residents of Chicago must have a family income of less than 140 percent of the city’s Area Median Income to qualify for the prepaid transit cards.
