Have you been waiting for that stimulus check from the federal government to help pay for your mortgage or cover some medical costs? If so, we have good news for you: the deadline for taking advantage of this program is approaching quickly. However, there’s still time to get in on these checks, so don’t miss out!

The deadline to sign up for the stimulus check is February 10, 2023, so the clock is ticking. If you were eligible for a check and don’t want to miss out on getting your funds, act quickly.

Stimulus Check: Hurry Up And Get Yours

If you aren’t sure if you’re eligible for this money, it’s time to start looking into it. You can claim your funds as long as:

  • You’re at least 18 years old.
  • You were born before June 12th, 2021, and haven’t received any other payments from the government since then (including unemployment benefits).
  • Your income was low enough during those years (in 2019 $61K/year for single filers) that tax refunds could have been claimed by someone else who filed taxes in their name (such as parents or spouses).

The government has streamlined the process of filing for an Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act (GTRRA) or American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) stimulus check. You can sign up online, by mail or by phone. If you choose to file by mail, use the form provided in your letter as your application. If you choose to file online or over the phone, use Form 1040X-EZ when filing electronically or Form 1040X when filing on paper; both forms are available at www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040xez11a12b2011_05_23_12v1_era12b2011-05-24_instructions_2ndpage1of2_.pdf .

If you’re not eligible for a check, don’t worry. You can still sign up for the program if you haven’t already. The deadline for homeowners to submit their petitions is February 10, 2023. If you are eligible, the U.S. Treasury will send out your stimulus check within 60 days of receiving it in Washington D.C., according to Fox News’ reporting on this subject (which may be dated).

There’s just one last thing: Make sure that your home is actually eligible before signing up! Otherwise, it might not matter how much money was mailed out to people who didn’t qualify—and that would be a shame because there are also some other benefits associated with this particular stimulus bill.
