Stimulus Check: People Are Still Waiting For Government Money
The poll was conducted by the Pew Research Center, and it asked what respondents thought should happen with their taxes in 2022. Overall, respondents were split on whether or not they supported tax increases for high earners, but there was widespread support for a second stimulus check—a majority (65%) said they would be in favor, while only 33% opposed the idea.
The survey found the majority of respondents believed the government should do more to help people survive the pandemic financially. While some might say it’s not the government’s job to provide citizens with money, many others would disagree. For example, they might point out that it is precisely because of this type of pandemic that we need a functioning government—in order to ensure our survival during times of crisis and so on and so forth.
