Stimulus Checks

Homeowners in South Carolina will no longer be able to file their 2021 taxes and be qualified for a return of up to $800 in less than three weeks.

This tax credit is available to all South Carolina residents who filed their 2021 taxes before February 15th. The monies from the return will then be distributed to recipients in March, according to the state’s Department of Revenue. According to the agency, the amount of the refund that applicants would get is dependent on their tax burden, which is the amount of state income tax that South Carolina residents owe for the fiscal year 2021.

Stimulus Check For Residents

Residents with tax liabilities under $800 will receive a Stimulus Check equivalent to those liabilities, while residents with tax liabilities over $800 will receive a rebate of $800. The amount a citizen receives may not exceed their tax obligation if they have an overdue individual tax debt with the agency. This outstanding amount would be deducted from the rebate amount a recipient would receive.

The agency originally submitted this rebate on October 17, 2022. Those who submitted their 2021 taxes by that deadline received refunds before the end of the prior year. A rebate tracker allows recipients to check the status of their Stimulus Checks online. This tracker requires the recipient’s line 10 from their 2021 SC1040 and either their Social Security number or individual tax identification number.
