About a total of 169 million people have received their payments following the distribution of the stimulus checks. About 2.3 million citizens received their share of the direct payments in the month of June. The amount of the said direct payments was 1,400 USD. However, there are some lawmakers who are not satisfied with the payments. They want the government to provide for another set of stimulus checks that help the citizens make their ends meet until the end of the coronavirus pandemic.
Stimulus Check For Survival
As far as the response of the federal government with respect to the situation of the coronavirus pandemic in the country is concerned, they have provided some financial aid. About 3,200 USD has been delivered to the adults who are eligible for the payments. The relief plan with regard to the coronavirus that was introduced was successful in distributing 1,200 USD. The stimulus check was also responsible due to the “Economic Security Act” that was introduced in the month of March last year. Including that, the government also distributed 600 USD at the end of the year 2020. And under the “American Rescue Plan” that was introduced by Joe Biden, the President, a total of 1,400 USD was distributed in the month of March 2021.
Despite all these steps taken by the federal government in order to uplift the people from financial distress, the problem is yet to be solved. As per the details of a survey that was carried out by one of the financial firms, it was found out that the income of 4 out of 10 people went down as compared to their come in the pre-pandemic days. It has also been claimed that every 1 or two out of 4 households are unable to make their ends meet. They cannot even pay for their food or rent. This is the reason the demand for the fourth round of stimulus checks is only getting stronger.
