Half of the population in the country have started querying their requests for another stimulus check, as the delta variant surges on. And yet, there have been claims that another stimulus payment won’t come to fruition. Just last week, several new cases ravaged the nation- numbering around 120,000 per day.
Interestingly, the last time the country was devastated by the pandemic to this extent was in February 2021- just a few weeks before the third stimulus package was sent to citizens as a part of the pandemic rescue package of President Biden.
For the larger part of the country, the money from the stimulus check payments has long expired. But, it hasn’t necessarily implied that the population doesn’t suffer in the pandemic anymore- for that would be a straight line.
Also, massive certainty has been injected into the slowly recovering economy by the delta surge that has suddenly covered massive ground in the country. Despite all that, a stimulus payment wouldn’t be on the top of the priority list of the federal government.
Lawmakers, citizens keep pushing for a fourth stimulus check
While there has been no signal sent from the White House or Congress, there have been millions of citizens who desperately seek a stimulus check to stay afloat through the lingering pandemic.
New names keep getting added to the online petition which was started last year by a Colorado restaurateur that calls for a check which would deliver $2,000 to every adult and a sum of $1,000 to every single child until the pandemic recedes. The petition will soon close in on the goal of 3 million signatures.
At the same time, there has been quite a horde of Democrats that have put their names to letters that urge the president to keep providing stimulus check payments while COVID keeps being a threat.
