Several Americans are waiting for their stimulus check and tax refund to arrive at their doorsteps but they should not expect it to arrive today.
The reason is that there is no mail service on President’s Day.
Your local post office and couriers will be completely out of service as stated by the US Postal Service holiday calendars.
You can the USPS open their doors tomorrow on February 22, just like on other days.
The only service that will still run on President’s Day is the Priority Express Mail, which runs all through the year.
This might be unfortunate for several people but tax returns and stimulus checks are not a priority on the federal holiday list.
Stimulus checks were also not sent out on Veterans Day, Martin Luther King Day, and Columbus Day for the same reasons.
