A new $1,400 stimulus check is going out to 9 million homes across the country. The T-SPLOST tax vote for the City of Atlanta was defeated by a 2/3 vote so no funding will be approved for the current budget year. The county board has agreed that any unspent county funds will be returned back to taxpayers in the form of a refund.

With the stimulus check 2022, the government is giving direct cash assistance to individuals and families who have been affected by the pandemic. The goal of this initiative is to provide eligible individuals with up to $2000 per month per adult from October 2022 through December 2024. This will help you pay for expenses like rent, utilities, food and saving towards buying a new home or car.
The payments are made automatically into your bank account every month on or around your birthday (as long as you keep your banking information updated).
The program is open to everyone who has earned income in 2020 or 2021. If you have received unemployment benefits, you do not qualify for this program. You also do not qualify if your gross household income was more than 200% of the federal poverty level (FPL) in either 2020 or 2021.
