It appears we may not have completely moved on from the age of stimulus checks.
Remember the moments… stepping out to the mailbox in your bathrobe, a box of Cheese-its in hand, Covid-19 lingering around, reaching in… and voilà! A few grand in stimulus!
Well, as reported by Yahoo!, there are still some checks from 2021 that remain unclaimed: (LINK TO FULL ARTICLE)
“If you thought stimulus checks were behind us, it’s wise to revisit your 2021 tax returns. Why? Earlier this year, the U.S. government rolled out a series of Recovery Rebate Credit payments for taxpayers who didn’t claim their earlier stimulus checks. Moreover, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) started issuing up to $1400 to qualifying individuals in December 2024, with additional payments scheduled for later this month.”
Surprisingly, there are still about 1 million taxpayers who are eligible for a $1400 check.
If your individual income was $75,000 or less in 2021, or $150,000 or less as a household, and you missed out on the Recovery Rebate Credit, you might still qualify for it.
Here’s how you can check your eligibility:

You can visit the IRS website, where there’s a “Get My Payment” link available for you to provide your information.
