April 15 is almost here, just five days away.

When is the last day to submit your taxes?

The final date to file your federal taxes—or request an extension—is Tuesday, April 15.

Keep in mind that you still must pay any taxes owed even if you file for an extension; this merely allows you more time to submit your return.

If you request an extension, your new deadline for filing will be October 15.

Florida residents have until May 1 to submit their tax returns

These multiple disasters prompted the IRS to declare that “affected taxpayers in all of Florida now have until May 1, 2025, to file various federal individual and business tax returns and to make tax payments.”

Deadline approaches to claim $1,400 IRS stimulus check – are you eligible?

Time is running out for some American taxpayers to claim their eligibility for up to $1,400 in stimulus money from pandemic relief.

If you were a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident alien who submitted a 2021 tax return—or have yet to do so—and did not claim the Recovery Rebate Credit, you might be among the 1 million individuals eligible for the IRS payment.

“Our internal data indicated that approximately one million taxpayers missed claiming this complicated credit despite being eligible,” stated IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel.

Those eligible taxpayers who submitted a 2021 tax return but left the Recovery Rebate Credit field blank or indicated $0 when they qualified for the credit may receive a check, which will be processed automatically.

Taxpayers who have not yet filed their 2021 returns might still qualify for the funds, but the deadline to submit your 2021 return to claim the credit and any potential refund is April 15, 2025, according to the IRS.

The amounts of these payments can vary based on several criteria; however, the maximum payment is $1,400 for each eligible individual, as confirmed by the IRS.
