Apple TV+ is currently streaming the second season of Severance, which has become one of its most significant hits. However, the show that previously surpassed it in cultural impact—Ted Lasso—is gearing up for a new season. Here’s all the information we have about Ted Lasso Season 4.
Confirmed, Yet Not Officially Announced
To start, Apple TV+ has yet to make an official announcement about Ted Lasso’s return.
Nonetheless, ample indications suggest that the show is indeed coming back for Season 4. From hints provided by executives, series stars, and co-creator Bill Lawrence, to cast contract renewals and confirmed production schedules, the signs are clear.
While Apple representatives might not confirm Ted Lasso’s comeback just yet, it is evident that a new season is on its way.
Returning Cast for Season 4
According to initial reports, the majority of the Ted Lasso cast is expected to reprise their roles in Season 4. This is excellent news, as the ensemble cast is one of the show’s greatest attributes.
One potential exception is Phil Dunster, who portrays Jamie Tartt. He is said to have encountered scheduling conflicts that may prevent him from fully participating in the new season, though guest appearances could still be a possibility.
Reduced Role for Jason Sudeikis
Jason Sudeikis, the charismatic lead of the series, may not dominate screen time in the upcoming season.
According to Matt Belloni on his podcast The Town, it appears that Sudeikis will not be featured throughout the entire season.
There will be numerous returning cast members, but Sudeikis’s role will be scaled back.
Overall, it sounds like Ted will still be present, although perhaps in a more limited capacity compared to previous seasons. This wouldn’t be entirely surprising, considering that Lasso took a slight backseat in Season 3 to allow the ensemble cast to shine.
Introducing AFC Richmond’s First Women’s Team in Season 4
As reported by Sigmund Judge, a significant plotline in the upcoming season will involve the establishment of a women’s team at AFC Richmond.
It seems that while the men’s team will continue to be integral to the show, the Richmond club will also look to expand by introducing a women’s team for the very first time.
Anticipated Release for Season 4 on Apple TV+
Initially, production for Ted Lasso Season 4 was slated to begin in early this year. However, that timeframe did not pan out, and recent reports indicate a new production start is set for the spring.
Despite this, many variables remain uncertain, complicating the prediction of a target release date on Apple TV+.
Currently, it appears unlikely that new episodes of Ted Lasso will debut in 2025. Still, if they do miss this year, Season 4 should arrive at least sometime in 2026.
Apple TV+ is available at $9.99 per month, featuring popular shows and movies including Ted Lasso, Severance, The Morning Show, Silo, and Shrinking.
