Tencent Cloud said that it has signed strategic collaboration agreements with three other blockchain partners, Avalanche, Scroll, and Sui, to accelerate the deployment of Web3 apps.

Tencent Cloud is ready to capitalize on Asia’s rising demand for media services, offering a product range that includes the recently introduced “metaverse-in-a-box” to assist enterprises with Web3 projects. How generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, such as ChatGPT, will fit into the Chinese tech giant’s overarching goal is unknown.

Tencent Cloud Has New Deals

It is currently openly optimistic about media services business potential, which it predicts would increase 19-fold in Asia-Pacific between 2016 and 2026. That is the area with the biggest video-on-demand subscribers, said Poshu Yeung, senior vice president of Tencent Cloud International, during a media event in Singapore.

Tencent stated that regional countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand would have considerable development possibilities in media services due to the rapid expansion of the data center business in Southeast Asia.

The cloud provider began its media services company last year, promoting it as a one-stop audio and video solution that included, among other things, video-on-demand, live streaming, real-time communication, and messaging capabilities. 150 of its 400 media services are accessible outside of China.

Yeung explained that Tencent Cloud’s media service delivery is supported by a larger firm ecosystem with more than two decades of expertise in online game and media creation.

Particularly essential to this is the company’s “immersive convergence” strategy, which includes technologies such as Web3 that facilitate seamless communication and user experience across online and physical environments.

Tencent unveiled “metaverse-in-a-box” on Wednesday as a package of tools, including SDKs and low-code apps, to facilitate the rapid development of metaverse services by enterprises. According to Tencent, they may be utilized in gaming, media, and entertainment, as well as traditional industries.
