After meeting on the ABC dating reality program last autumn, the couple was married in a televised ceremony in January. Three months after their filmed wedding, “The Golden Bachelor” Gerry Turner and his wife Theresa Nist revealed on Friday that they are separating.

“Theresa and I have had several heart-to-heart conversations and we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, and so forth and we’ve kind of concluded, mutually, that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage,” Turner, 72, told “Good Morning America.”

“The Golden Bachelor” Are Yet To Disclose The Reason Behind Their Sudden Breakup

After meeting on the inaugural season of “The Golden Bachelor,” an ABC offshoot of the popular dating reality program “The Golden Bachelor,” last autumn, the couple was married in a televised ceremony in January. Nist, 70, expressed gratitude to supporters. “I don’t think we can tell you how many people told us that it gave them so much hope,” she continued. “We want none of that to change for anybody.”

Though they did not disclose the reasons behind their breakup, Turner and Nist implied that they struggled to make living decisions. Turner is a retired restaurateur from Indiana, while Nist works in financial services. Nist is from New Jersey. In November, the couple revealed to Juju Chang of ABC News that they intended to settle in South Carolina. “We looked at homes in South Carolina, we considered New Jersey, and we just looked at home after home,” Nist stated. “But we never got to the point where we made that decision.”
