The Top 5 Apple Announcements from CES 2025

CES 2025 was a truly exciting event. It’s the only convention worldwide where the future of the toothbrush industry can be seen alongside exhibits featuring robot vacuums equipped with robotic arms. Almost every brand presented some variation of an AI assistant, smart glasses, health wearables, or powerful GaN chargers that boast the ability to simultaneously charge multiple laptops at full speed (okay, perhaps that’s a bit exaggerated). Amidst this chaotic showcase, several products and brands caught my attention, especially those related to Apple accessories. Here’s a roundup of my top five product discoveries at CES.

Don’t forget to watch our video where we recap all the notable Apple-related announcements from CES, including hands-on features with many of these products!

1. Aukey’s latest charging collection

Aukey specializes in producing high-quality charging solutions and battery accessories for various Apple devices like iPhones, AirPods, and Apple Watches. This year, their main areas of focus for charging solutions were enhancing cooling features and expanding their capabilities beyond just the essentials. Their refreshed lineup is branded as the MagFusion series.

MagFusion 3 in 1 Pro Magnetic Charger with Cooling

  • Compatible with the main trio: iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods
  • Omnia-Frez cooling technology that includes a thermoelectric cooling chip, high-speed fan, silicone thermal pad, and cooling fins
  • Qi2 certification ensuring 15W fast wireless charging
  • Rapid charging support for Apple Watch Series 7 and newer
  • Adjustable viewing angles of up to 30 degrees
  • Includes a braided cable and a 45W charging brick in the box

This charger is currently available for $129.99.

MagFusion Titan 6 in 1 Magnetic Charger

  • Simultaneously charges 2 iPhones via Qi2, alongside an Apple Watch and AirPods Pro, plus offers 2 additional USB-C output ports
  • 180-degree adjustable magnetic mounts
  • USB-C ports support 18W charging

This product is expected to launch later in 2025.

2. Satechi M4 Mac Mini Hub and Enclosure

As much as I enjoy my new M4 Mac mini, it’s lacking two crucial components: an SD card slot and at least one USB-A port. Although USB-A ports are becoming rarer, many peripherals still rely on this type of connection! Satechi’s new M4 Mac mini hub is designed to address these missing ports and more. I have a detailed hands-on review for those interested in additional insights. Here’s what you need to know.

  • USB-A 3.2 Ports: Provide transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps, allowing you to quickly transfer large files.
  • SD Card Reader: Offers speeds of up to 312MB/s, ideal for swift photo and video transfers.
  • Incorporates an SSD Enclosure: Allows for an extra 4TB of NVMe storage for backups, media libraries, or hefty projects.
  • Rear Access to Power Button: Avoids awkward reaches, featuring a dedicated opening for the Mac Mini’s power button.
  • Heat Dissipation Vents: Designed to keep your Mac Mini cool during extensive use.
  • Cable Management: Ensures a tidy setup through its built-in plug-and-play cable.

This accessory will retail for $99 and is set for a limited launch on February 17th, with global availability in March. I’m eagerly waiting for this one!

3. Ohsnap Mcon Switchblade

This was undoubtedly one of the standout items at CES this year. If you’re a mobile gaming enthusiast, the OhSnap Mcon controller is a must-see. This innovative controller, designed for convenience, magnetically attaches to the back of your iPhone and has a compact footprint when not in use. With just a button press, it extends into a full controller.

The controller boasts two fold-out grips for improved handling, full-sized hall-effect joysticks, and tactile buttons that provide satisfying feedback. It connects via Bluetooth and includes a rechargeable 450mAh battery via USB-C. Although battery life details are pending since it’s still early in development, the company has indicated it consumes minimal power.

Currently, it’s on Kickstarter with an initial goal of raising $25,000 and has surpassed $1.2 million in pledges as of this writing. Its early bird cost is $119, with a planned retail price of $149. As an emulation fan on my iPhone, I’m genuinely excited about this controller!

Shiftcam, known for its innovative iPhone photography accessories, introduced something remarkable: the Planck SSD. This compact SSD, available in 1TB and 2TB options, fits seamlessly with your iPhone. Take a look at its size!

  • Transfer speeds reach up to 1050 MB/s
  • Compatible with ProRes recording at 4K/120
  • Drop-proof and IP65 water-resistant
  • Lightweight at only 10 grams

ShiftCam plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign next month, where early backers can pre-order the Planck SSD at a reduced price. During the initial phase, the 1TB option will be priced at $125, while the 2TB version will cost $199. Specifics about the Kickstarter launch date are yet to be disclosed.

5. Moft FindMy MagSafe Wallet Stand

I have been a loyal user of Moft products for years. Their accessories for iPhones are high-quality and practical, often featuring innovative origami-like designs that bring multifunctionality. Their best-selling MagSafe wallet stand exemplifies this nicely. It accommodates up to four cards and enables your iPhone to be positioned in three different stand modes.

At CES, Moft unveiled the next version of this wallet stand, bringing several new enhancements:

  • Built-in FindMy support
  • Up to four months of battery life, rechargeable via MagSafe!
  • Bluetooth range of 40 meters
  • IP68 rated, ensuring dust and water resistance

The wallet is not available for purchase yet, but it’s expected to be released in the first half of 2025, with a target retail price of $49.99, along with introductory discounts. I can’t wait to get my hands on this new model! For more details, check out their product page here.

Honorable Mention: Even Realities G1 Smart Glasses

For me, this product was the highlight of the entire event. These smart glasses embody my vision of what the future holds for wearable tech. They offer the most practical, user-friendly experience I’ve encountered in smart glasses to date. After trying them out during the demo, I had that “AHA” moment, picturing widespread adoption. Here’s what you should know:

  • Features a discreet heads-up display that emits clear green digital text (640 x 200 pixels) onto the lenses, providing real-time insights without obstructing the user’s view; the UI is only visible to the wearer.
  • Capable of real-time language translation in 13 languages, turn-by-turn navigation, a presentation teleprompter (which excites me most), and an AI assistant for quick inquiries.
  • Crafted from titanium and magnesium, making them ultra-lightweight and comfortable.
  • Offers a battery life of 1.5 days, with the carrying case providing an additional 5 days of power (similar to how AirPods Pro charging works).

These are already up for purchase on the Even Realities website, offering several color options, the capability to add prescriptions, and additional sunshades. Pricing begins at $599. I plan on acquiring a pair soon and will provide an in-depth review, so keep an eye out for future content!
