However, that didn’t materialize, but a leaker with a solid reputation now indicates that this setup will debut with the iPhone 17 Pro.
Google’s Pixel 9 Pro has already adopted this horizontal camera bar design, and the leaker mentioned that “many” Android devices are expected to follow suit.
The Weibo user Digital chat station has accurately predicted previous leaks, including details about the telephoto lens being added to the iPhone 16 Pro and an increase in sensor size.
Today, they hinted at the introduction of a horizontal camera bump for all three lenses.
Based on supply chain information, the iPhone 17 series is confirmed to adopt this design. However, specifics about the arrangement of the lenses are currently unavailable. This module takes on a bar shape, and many new Android smartphones will transition to this design next year.
The mention of unknown details implies that they still lack information regarding the precise order of the three lenses.
Other horizontal camera formats have surfaced, with some commenters noting the Chinese brand Meizu as an early adopter; however, in their case, the lenses are aligned vertically rather than horizontally, which may be more logical considering that most pictures and videos are captured in landscape mode.
On the other hand, the iPhone 17 Air is anticipated to feature a single camera.
Recently, there were reports suggesting that Apple might switch from titanium to aluminum for the iPhone 17 Pro, although it was noted that this might be a simple misinterpretation of the terminology.
