After the recent update that introduced Custom Feeds for all users, the Threads app is rolling out another major feature. Users can now enjoy watching landscape videos within the mobile application—a key functionality that has been absent until now.
Landscape Video Support Now Available in Threads
The Threads team confirmed the news after some users reported the change. Previously, if you attempted to view a video in full screen within the app, it wouldn’t rotate for horizontal videos. Thanks to the latest update, users can now watch both videos and photos in landscape mode.
“You found it,” was the response from the official Threads account to a user’s query. DMN has verified that this feature is indeed available with the newest iOS app update.
Earlier this week, Meta started to roll out the ability for all users to create Custom Feeds in Threads. Concurrently, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced that the algorithm will be adjusted to prioritize content from accounts users follow. Mosseri also mentioned that Threads will allow users to search for posts based on a specific date range in the near future.
Most recently, Meta revealed plans to introduce advertisements to Threads users next year. This initiative follows the platform’s impressive growth since its launch, as Threads now boasts over 200 million monthly active users.
The Threads app is free to download from the App Store and requires an iPhone with iOS 15.1 or higher. Be sure to update to the latest version of the app to take advantage of the new features.
