Earlier this year, Threads began testing Custom Feeds to enhance user personalization by allowing them to view specific content of their choice. A few months down the line, Meta is now launching Custom Feeds globally for all Threads app users.
Threads app now features Custom Feeds
As confirmed by Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri, the ability to create Custom Feeds in the Threads app is now accessible to users worldwide. This feature operates similarly to the option of creating columns based on search results available on the desktop version. However, on the mobile app, users can view all their feeds by pulling down on the Threads homepage.
To establish a new feed, simply search for a topic within the Threads app and tap the three-dot menu. Threads will then provide options to create a new feed based on your search or add that keyword to an existing feed.
Additionally, with this update, Threads is streamlining the process for users to select between viewing search results based on suggested posts, the most recent posts, or user profiles.
Recently, Meta announced its plans to begin displaying ads to Threads users next year, following the platform’s substantial growth since its launch – Threads now boasts over 200 million monthly active users.
The Threads app is available for free on the App Store, requiring an iPhone running iOS 15.1 or later. Ensure you update the app to the latest version to access the new features.
